The frog bot jumps due to the rack mechanism driven by an electric motor and elastic force, it can jump like a real frog. Once the motor has been switched on it drives the rack mechanism which transforms rotary motion into linear motion causing the elastics to become taut.
Once the rack ends the robot will have a vigorous upward acceleration thanks to the elastics enabling it to complete a series of jumps in rapid succession.
